Daniel Healey handed a note to staff at a Santander bank he robbed with a list of demands on it – but it was written on the back of a Holland & Barrett shop he visited earlier.
A bungling bank robber was caught after writing a list of demands on the back of a receipt from a shop he had been to, a court heard.
Daniel Healey, 42, passed Santander staff a note reading “Don’t Panic!! Put all bank notes in the bag! I promise if you do as I say no one will get hurt. Don’t be a hero – I’m sorry to do this.”
He fled when cashiers triggered the alarm but left the incriminating message behind.
Police checked the receipt and realised it was from nearby health food store Holland & Barrett.
CCTV showed Healey in the shop before carrying out the raid in Manchester city centre.
