A heroic dad has told how he risked his own life to rescue a disabled homeless man trapped in a burning building.

Shocking footage showed a fireball engulfing a lock-up storage facility in Saughton Park, Edinburgh, at around 7pm on Monday.

There were reports that teenagers were running from the scene.

But moments before, quick-thinking Kyle McAndrew, 32, risked his own life to save a homeless man with multiple sclerosis, who had taken shelter inside and was unable to escape.

Kyle was playing with his children on the nearby field when he noticed the fire, and heard cries for help.

He said he chased a group of youths aged 14 to 16 away from the scene, and believed they had been caught on CCTV.
