Mohamed Salah saved a homeless man from being harassed by a group of yobs outside Anfield.

The incident occurred on September 28 shortly after Liverpool beat Arsenal 3-1 in the Premier League.

Salah pulled up to a petrol station in his Bentley near Anfield when he saw a group of yobs taunting a homeless man.

The Egyptian stepped in and gave the gang a ticking off, telling them that they should be careful as they could end up in the same situation.

After scaring the group off, he went to the cash machine to withdraw £100 for the man.

David Craig has been homeless for six years and has hailed Salah as a “real-life hero”.

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, happened in an area where Mr Craig has been sleeping rough for some time.

The former labourer revealed how a couple of lads approached him to taunt him, telling him to get a job and asking why he was begging.
