A crook who pretended to fall over in shops before trying to claim £11,000 in damages was exposed by bizarre CCTV footage.

Asad Khan, 44, from Halifax, went to shops in North Yorkshire to try and trick shops into paying out money for his fake injuries.

After he slipped he went straight to a member of staff to complain about his fall.

In one incident at a discount store, CCTV captured Khan initially walk past a spillage but look back noticing it.

He continued walking but made his way back towards it up another aisle, before attempting his slip.

“Fortunately our customer had CCTV footage which could clearly challenge and prove that the claims made by Khan were dishonest.”
