What Monitored CCTV Actually Means

Most systems sold as monitored send an alert to your phone. That is a notification, not a response. At two in the morning it is a notification you will probably sleep through.

Monitored CCTV means the alert goes to a control room where an operator looks at the footage and decides whether it matters. If it does, they act: challenging the person over the on-site speakers, calling your keyholder, or escalating to police with a verified incident rather than an unconfirmed alarm.

That verification step is the whole product. Without it you have a recording system that tells you about a break-in the following morning.

An operator looks at it and decides whether the activity is genuine or a fox, a branch or a passing vehicle.

Genuine activity gets an audio challenge over the on-site speakers. Most intruders leave at this point.

Escalation

If they stay, we call your keyholder or escalate to police with a verified incident, which gets a faster response than an unconfirmed alarm.
